One year, I started a 365 Day Photo Challenge on Tumblr. I completely, 100% forgot about it and then randomly saw one of them linked on my page one day. This was in 2010. That’s how bad I am about keeping up with these Photo Challenges but everyone else is doing them and I have a constant stream of reminder on my dashboard so here goes, working backwards…
February 8th (Sun)-
My darling niece in the sun. She serves as my iPhone background. If I’m ever in a bar and feeling like being a completely precocious ridiculous person, I tell guys that she’s my daughter. The reactions of seeing their face fall after wasting time talking to some girl with “baggage” is priceless. Majority of guys are not into single Moms for the long haul.

February 6th (Dinner)-
Urth Cafe in West Hollywood on Melrose. Before moving to LA, I only knew it as the place the guys on Entourage always go to. Then, I discovered the Green Tea Blended Boba with Coconut. This was my first time trying the Nori Rice Wraps. They were perfect because they fill you up but you don’t feel like you can’t move afterwards. This year, I’ve been trying to focus on eating more grains and veggies. They don’t keep my full for just 3 meals a day so I usually eat 5-6 times a day with smaller meals. I’ve noticed a difference in my energy and digestion. Wasabi is the perfect trick to getting me to drink more water.
February 5th (10 AM)-
I’m not a big drinker. There are two drinks I like. Tom Collins because it’s light, refreshing, and gets me slightly fun tipsy but never wasted and 2. Bloody Mary’s. I am obsessed with the mixers, it’s spicy, tomato-y, and a great way to start a Sunday morning. Plus, OMG olives! I am that girl, the one that eats the olives at the bar. I frequently plant myself next to the condiments and eat at least a dozen at a time. Bar tenders are either amused or annoyed.

Obsessing Over: My new flea market finds from Sunday. I spent a solid two hours roaming around the parking lot at Fairfax Flea Market with Hazel. I got a polka dot dress from the 1950’s, a Trovato silk dress, gold hoops circa 1970’s, and plenty of sunshine.
Working On: dontforgettohavefun.com because I started it months ago. Then, I neglected it for too many other distractions. Then, I had a dream (no, seriously) and came up with a new angle that is much more inspiring to me to work on the idea. Thinking About: All of my friends in Berlin for Electrick Children premiere. Anticipating: Waking up first thing tomorrow morning so I can watch The Bachelor on Hulu. It’s really the only thing that I anticipate on Monday nights and the only time of year when I wish I had cable. Listening To: Supernanny on TV. It’s my guilty pleasure, I have absolutely no idea why I’m obsessed with this show. Or Toddlers and Tiaras for that matter. For most of the morning I was playing the Cat Power Pandora station. Drinking: Water with lemon. Wishing: I miss my Mom. She’s in Florida. I’m in California. Sometimes my life just feels more secure when she’s not on the opposite coast. She goes out of her way to do things that I can’t stand. Seriously, she enjoys doing laundry and always tackles my hamper when she’s in town. I can’t wait until the retires and moves to Los Angeles.
Without giving away details before the world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, I’ll just say that Electrick Children (the rough cut of it, at least) blew my mind. There is more info on the film’s website, twitter and facebook page, and they’ll be info about the American premiere up soon.
I’m placing my bets on this one.
