Highlights of 2009 begins with the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. We took the bus down to DC from NYC. Most of my family lives right outside of DC so we took the metro in. Going with S was amazing. We had an adventure and she was a good sport with my constant complaining about the cold. Seriously, it was freezing. The moments after the swearing in ceremony were beautiful. The tears, the hope, and the excitement was magnetic throughout the crowd. However, the 5 hours after the ceremony that consisted of us making our way through the crowd to try to get on a metro that was still running was brutal. It was freezing and their were fights breaking out and claustrophobic people fainting. Overall, it was an adventure and I’m so glad I can say, “I was there!”
